Using the wood chips as a dig pile
learning to be around children
meeting the horses
Rudy had a bust week. He is now 6.2 lbs and getting a little taller. He went to work with me in Cedar City and was able to get out of the car in two separate locations to eliminate. At home he saw the horses, cats and cows. During the week my husband Clabe came home and Rudy spent the day outside with him working and putting up fence. He was exhausted! (but seemed content 😊)

Vanda,
ReplyDeleteThese are great videos and photos! I am so delighted to hear that Rudy is going to 'work' with you. Fabulous.
Couple of pointers:
1) I would not allow any puppy into a pen with livestock as you have no way to help that puppy should an animal get spooked. He could so easily get hurt.
2) Love the exploration of other areas!!
3) You and your husband and family need to pick a nickname for him. Why? Because in the KMODT (Koehler Method of Dog Training) we use the dog's name/a command which must be obeyed. The use of the dog's name is an attention getter to train the dog to listen for the immediate command to follow. Sooo, all my dogs have nicknames I use when I am speaking about them, but not to them.
Example, Sugar is 'old dog' or 'yellow dog'. Pree is 'BLM' (Black Labs Matter) or 'black dog'. Boaz is 'B dog'. Redd is 'pest' or 'young dog'. Does that make sense?
3) I would love to see a video of you working him on the Sit which is the first exercise he learns besides Quiet Time.
See you and Rudy next week for Puppy Lesson # 2!
