Introducing Ellie!!

Our mini American Shepherd

We travelled lots of miles (over 2000) to Waverly, Kansas to pick this pup up and take her home with us. As it turned out, it happened to be on my birthday, July 8. I was concerned about how she’d travel but she was amazing. She slept when the car moved, woke up when we stopped.

When we got home we introduced Ellie to our 2 1/2 year old mini Aussie, Molly. Molly is injured so she wasn’t overjoyed to have the pup around. At this point, Molly is just putting up with the pup. 

Here’s what I’ve learned about Ellie so far.

She does okay with quiet time in low distractions. I can’t take her out yet as she’s only 9 weeks old. 

She  loves Molly’s bed 🤣

Unless Molly’s in it.

She is VERY food motivated, like Molly. They wander into the kitchen whenever  they hear the cabinets being opened or packages crinkling.

So we’re working on place…

Molly’s knee surgery is in 9 days. Once she recovers, I think she’ll like having Ellie around. Hopefully by then, with some training, Ellie will be more well mannered than she is right now. 🤗
