Team Stanley: Rich and Shelley (with Trey and Winnie to help!)
Team Reggie: Joe, Kathy, and Megan
I am so excited for all of you to start on this amazing journey towards having well-mannered, well-behaved, and obedient dogs!!! You will not regret choosing KMODT (Koehler Method of Dog Training), right Trey? 😉
An overview of The Mannerly Puppy course:
- It is self-paced. We will not have any formal lessons. I am available for tutoring sessions, though, if you need it! There will be a couple exercises that would be better to do in person, but we'll set them up as they come along.
- Please start from the beginning (7-10 weeks material) and PLEASE GO IN ORDER - don't skip around. KMODT is very sequential and all exercises and skills are dependent upon success with the ones before.
- The Quiet Time exercise is going to be one of the most important exercises you do! And you can't over-do it!
- Please look carefully at the 'Equipment You Will Want' section (it's towards the bottom on the left side). Ordering a check cord should be one of the first things you do.
Please ask any and all questions that come up along the way! From our experience, those students who actively post progress and ask questions are the ones who will graduate. Just some food for thought.
Now, here's your first homework assignment!
We need to make sure that you are comfortable with using Blogger, so please post a photo (or 2) of you and your pup with a short introduction of yourself. Then also please post a video of the space you have at home (inside and outside) for training. We'd like it to be embedded rather than a link. If you need help with this, please let me know sooner rather than later.

When you post your introduction, let us know what nickname you picked for your pup, too!
Upload your photos and video(s) by next weekend, thanks!
